The justification for absolutism referred to as the ‘divine right of kings’ can be stated as an authority given to monarchs directly by God. Since the monarch was God's representative on Earth, his decisions became law without any accountability.
3. List the causes of the rise of Absolutism in Europe.
Bible and old civilizations contributed to the idea of Absolutism. Bishop Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet affirmed that absolute power could be justified through the divine right of kings to rule.Thomas Hobbes, justified absolutism politically rather than religiously. He wrote that absolute monarchy was the only system of government capable of maintaining order. The Protestant Reformation also contributed to absolutism as well. Papal influence had weakened in many states, and secular affairs needed guidance from a powerful ruler. To establish order and control, monarchs required a bureaucracy.
4.In your opinion, is absolutism a good way to rule? Can you think of a situation where it might be a positive thing?
In my opinion, absolutism is a good way to rule one nation. Although people won’t be able to express their opinion,absolutism allows the country to be under control and organized. The best government was one that had the awesome power of leviathan. Also, as Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet stated that absolute power could be justified through the divine right of kings to rule

While many monarchs were resistant to this change in thinking, some embraced it and wanted to be known as 'enlightened'. As such they have been referred to as 'Enlightened despots.' Make sure you really look at the 3 examples on pages 204-205 (Frederick the Great, Joseph II, and Catherine the Great).
2) How did they reflect the new Enlightenment ideals? New Enlightenment ideals broke the tradition idea and abolish unfair rules but reform the country with stable and fair government respecting individual right.

People decided to Occupy Wall Street and other financial areas because people would need to grab attention in order to gain support and spread their opinions. Also, they would have to occupy major cities because major places are more likely to attract more attention. In addition, they would occupy other financial areas because this whole protest is about financial issues.
2. Who might oppose those who are occupying Wall Street or demonstrating? Why are they opposing them? The wealthy people, upper class people may opposed those who are occupying Wall Street or demonstrating. As the chasm between the rich and the poor widened, poor people struggled to survive inorder for them not to end like how the Roman Empire did.
